Rufus presses his lips together into a thin line but he understands. He's annoyed that Tseng didn't inform him that he was leaving on a mission like he normally did but there was nothing he could do about it now other than wait for Tseng to return. He will deal with him then.

"I didn't have things like this after Meteorfall. I suppose I lost the taste for it," he admits as he reaches for his coffee. "You missed some crumbs- here- ," he reaches out with a napkin to brush the last of it away without thinking. "I know you and Tseng haven't had the benefit of experiencing the last two years with me as President, there is a lot that changed during that time. I'm not the same person you saw on the rooftop of the Shinra building that night."

That night feels like a lifetime ago now. He brushes that thought aside since it's not something he wanted to dwell on. "The four of you have had that time to learn how I do things as President during those years so I'm sure a lot of this is new territory," he says thoughtfully as he picks up his coffee.
