Rufus reaches out to take Rude's sunglasses off, setting them off somewhere to the side. This isn't the first time he's seen Rude cry but those are not memories he wants to dwell on or bring up. A part of him had always envied Rude for being able to cry, he wonders how it feels to let out these emotions. It must be freeing.

He can't promise that it won't happen again- Sephiroth won't show any of them mercy. And Sephiroth was just the threat he knew was out there. He was sure there were other dangers lurking out there. But he's not going to focus on that right now, his attention was entirely on Rude. He reaches out to touch Rude's cheek, wiping tears across his skin.

Instead, he just leans in to press a kiss against Rude's lips, pulling him closer against him.
